Kitara & SR

KITARA CLASSIC or SR?

After the popular demand for a bait specifically designed for linear recovery , we take the opportunity of the launch of our new softbait to clarify the differences between Kitara and Kitara SR .

KITARA

Kitara

WEIGHT and MEASUREMENTS:

  • 2" (5 cm), weighing approximately 0.8 grams (1 gram if armed with our VMC hook )
  • 2.5" (6 cm), for 1.6 grams (1.8 grams armed)
  • 3" (7.5cm) for 3 grams (3.2 grams armed)
  • 3.75" (9.5 cm) for 5.5 grams (5.8 grams armed)

    COLORS:

There are currently 28 colors available in the catalogue, combined with all your custom ones. The color cutting is done by hand (the bait is poured in a color, cut, put back into the mold and poured again), so the customization opportunities are truly endless. Some pigments do not react well when combined with others. In case of customization, contact us before adding one of our custom colors to your cart!

    DESIGN:

The Kitara's body shape is extremely slender, smooth, with a long tail that ends in the main feature of the model: an extremely large, heavy paddle with no right angles. The natural shape of the body and the particular paddle make the Kitara a bait that is not comparable to others. Don't be fooled by appearances - the Kitara is not your classic Shad/Paddle Tail !

    MOVEMENT:

The movement of the Kitara is out of the ordinary. In fact, unlike the shad you are used to, we have designed this bait to have a predominantly vertical rather than horizontal game. The massive paddle acts as a counterweight to the body, creating a serpentine movement in the water that is very reminiscent of that of a small eel in difficulty. By playing on the vertical and horizontal we have the possibility of alternating active swimming phases with passive phases, thus replicating the real movement pattern of the fish. In fact, the paddle, combined with a large tail, requires significant friction with the water to begin to "wag". By taking advantage of this characteristic we can create movements in the water that are irresistible to predators.

    RETRIEVE:

Another characteristic is the extreme freedom it leaves us in the retrieve. Bottom Jig, Jerk & Twitch, Stop & Go, Shake, speed variations... Once you understand the two fundamentals of its retrieve, vertical action (change of depth) and sudden movements (to achieve the friction necessary to make the paddle), we are faced with an infinite number of combinations that make the Kitara an incredibly versatile softbait and above all very fun to use for us fishermen!

    HOW TO RIG:

To best express its freedom of movement we recommend mounting the Kitara with Cheburashka and offset hooks .

    KITARA SR

    WEIGHT and MEASUREMENTS:

    • 3" (7.5cm) for 2.5 grams (2.7 grams armed)

      COLORS:

There are currently 8 colors available in the catalogue, combined with all your custom ones. The SR is injected exclusively in a single-color version or using a special double syringe, therefore with a longitudinal cut of two colors.

      DESIGN:

The body shape of the SR is extremely slim and natural, slightly slimmer than the Kitara. The long tail ends in an XL paddle with a decidedly more classic design, but also immediately recognizable and particular compared to the shad currently on the market.

      MOVEMENT:

With the SR we wanted to give you a softbait with a swimming action that you are more accustomed to. In fact, the tail has a frenetic right/left movement even during linear recoveries and the body has a pronounced wobble. It is in fact a bait that does everything by itself, very suitable both for those who are starting to approach spinning but also for the many situations in which a regular retrieve can make the difference.

      RETRIEVE:

The SR is specifically designed for a linear retrieve, but the great mobility of the paddle combined with the extended tail certainly does not exclude the more complex retrieves that you would do with the Kitara. The design of the bait will accentuate, unlike the Kitara, horizontal movements (wagging), rather than vertical ones.

      HOW TO RIG:

Cheburashka and offset hooks are always the rig we recommend, but the purely horizontal movement of the SR also goes perfectly with classic rigs with Jig Heads.
