Inspired by theRainbow Smelt(Osmerus mordax), a forage fish with a translucent color and iridescent reflections produced by micro-layered pigmentation. Closely related to theWakasagi(Hypomesus nipponensis), it shares its color architecture: pearly sides and visible interference with changing light.
